The God Who Heals - Jehovah Rapha

You may have never needed God as Jehovah Rapha, but it is likely you will. Even if you never call His name for yourself, you may find yourself calling from the depths of your heart for a parent, your child, or for a friend. It is good to intimately call His name and acknowledge His absolute power to heal.

God’s healing is different for each person and God’s way of delivering that healing is uniquely suited to each person. Some of the most complex issues of faith deal with questions that require a deeper understanding of God’s ability to heal and how He gives each person what he or she needs. Isaiah 55:8-9 says:

For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

God has an eternal view of past, present, and future. We are more limited in our understanding, but never doubt this:

God can heal anything, even a broken heart or a bruised soul.

Note: I spoke on healing prayer at a women’s retreat recently. I would be glad to share my notes on this controversial subject. Just comment on this blog or email me directly if you wish me to send you my notes.
