Immanuel! God with Us
Immanuel, God with us
Our God is unique in that He is not distant as on Mount Olympus or on a throne we cannot access. He is with us—all the time, everywhere we go, whether we acknowledge Him or not. He is constant even if we are not.
He is with us
-in our time of need of emotional or any kind of support
-in our joy in our family, our marriage, and our most blessed relationships
-in our decisions when we must choose between two options
-in our success and celebrations
-in our love and grief, in our laughter and deep disappointment
-in our proudest moments and our humiliations
-in our doubt and questioning.
God is with us. Now. Ten years from now. The moment you draw your last breath. It’s a mystery how He can never leave us or forsake us, but that is His promise He has kept for thousands of years. Many are uncomfortable with mystery or accepting there is a power so intimate in their lives that they cannot fully understand with limited human understanding. But He stays very close anyway. Always.
God is with us at Christmas.
I am praying today that in your quiet moments next year you will sense that He is with you or that you will ask that it be so. Just call His name:
Immanuel!
